The best-known surviving Jewish house of worship in Baghdad and a key physical reminder of the city’s historic Jewish community. Located in Baghdad, it is preserved here as part of Iraq’s Jewish heritage. It formed part of the religious and communal life of Iraqi Jewry. Surviving photographs, architectural evidence and historical references help preserve the memory of the site and its community.
