A documented synagogue associated with Zakho’s historic Jewish community, one of the most important Jewish centers of Iraqi Kurdistan. Located in Zakho, it is preserved here as part of Iraq’s Jewish heritage. It formed part of the religious and communal life of Iraqi Jewry. Surviving photographs, architectural evidence and historical references help preserve the memory of the site and its community.
