To my Iraqi brothers and sisters inside Iraq and abroad
Statement
The Sanctity of Iraqi Blood and Confronting Injustice Against Tishreen in the Path of Abraham, peace be upon him
People of our homeland,
Your brothers in The Abrahamic Movement – Iraq have followed the statements and admissions of Hadi al-Amiri, Iran’s arm in Iraq, which confirm what the Movement has raised in its previous statements about the role of militias in Iraq and their criminal role. Therefore, today we need a word of truth that brings the people of the country together and places the sanctity of Iraqi blood above partisan, sectarian and political calculations.
From this standpoint, we direct this appeal to the religious authorities, tribal and clan sheikhs, state institutions, and every Iraqi who believes that injustice cannot be the foundation for building a homeland.
The issue of the martyrs, wounded, missing and forcibly disappeared of the Tishreen Revolution is not the issue of one group or sect. It is an issue of the dignity of the Iraqi human being and the right to life, freedom and justice.
Regarding the statements in which the killer Hadi al-Amiri acknowledged the responsibility of what is called the “resistance” for killing, wounding or disappearing protesters, it is the duty of the state and the judiciary to verify them officially and independently and determine responsibilities according to evidence and law.
We draw from the life of Abraham, peace be upon him, a great lesson in confronting injustice and tyranny.
Abraham did not submit to falsehood and did not remain silent before the worship of tyranny. He stood before his people with argument and words, calling them to abandon falsehood and return to truth.
God Almighty said:
“[And mention] when Abraham said to his father and his people, ‘What are these statues to which you are devoted?’ They said, ‘We found our fathers worshippers of them.’ He said, ‘Indeed, you and your fathers have been in manifest error.’”
Al-Anbiya 52–54
Abraham, peace be upon him, was clear in his rejection of tyranny, even standing against Nimrod, the possessor of authority and power, with argument and proof.
God Almighty said:
“Have you not considered the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord because Allah had given him kingship? When Abraham said, ‘My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death,’ he said, ‘I give life and cause death.’ Abraham said, ‘Indeed, Allah brings up the sun from the east, so bring it up from the west.’ So the disbeliever was overwhelmed. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.”
Al-Baqarah 258
The position of Abraham teaches us that the power of authority does not make falsehood true, and that possessing power does not give a person the right to take the lives of others.
Therefore, following Abraham in our time does not mean revenge or chaos. It means standing with truth, rejecting injustice, defending human dignity, and demanding justice through argument, law and legitimate peaceful means.
The sanctity of Iraqi blood in the Book of God
God Almighty said:
“And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right.”
Al-Isra 33
And He said:
“Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption in the land—it is as if he had killed all mankind.”
These are not merely verses to be recited. They are principles that must become conduct, state practice and law.
From the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ
The Messenger of God ﷺ said:
“Your blood, your property and your honor are sacred to you.”
And he said ﷺ:
“Do not return after me as unbelievers, striking the necks of one another.”
Agreed upon.
And he said ﷺ:
“The destruction of the world is less grave before God than the killing of a Muslim man.”
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah.
How can a state or society be sound if citizens’ blood becomes permissible because of a political disagreement, a protest, or a position toward those in power?
Silence in the face of injustice should not replace a word of truth.
To tribal and clan sheikhs
The families of Tishreen’s martyrs, wounded and disappeared await a national position from the tribal sheikhs of Baghdad, central Iraq and the south.
Let the tribe stand with the oppressed, but through law and justice, not through revenge and retaliation.
Abraham did not make confronting falsehood a pretext for attacking innocents; he made it a position concerning truth and falsehood.
To state institutions and the judiciary
We ask:
Where are the serious investigations into the crimes committed during the Tishreen events?
Where are the results of investigations into killings, injuries, kidnappings and disappearances?
Where is the legal accountability of everyone proven to have ordered, carried out, incited or concealed a crime?
Any admission or public statement concerning crimes of killing or disappearance must not remain merely media material; it must be subject to verification and judicial investigation. We call for no one to be above the law.
Iraqi blood is one.
From Zakho to Faw, and from Khanaqin to al-Qa’im, there is no difference between one Iraqi’s blood and another’s.
Whether Muslim, Christian or Jewish.
A sect, party or faction must not become protection from accountability.
We do not hold a sect responsible for the crime of an individual, nor protect an individual from responsibility because he belongs to a sect, party or group.
Our message: no revenge... but justice
We do not want an Iraq governed by vendettas, nor an Iraq in which injustice is answered with another injustice.
We want an Iraq in which the sanctity of blood stands above politics, law above weapons, justice above influence, and the human being above party, sect and faction.
Just as Abraham stood against tyranny with words and argument, our duty today is to stand against injustice through truth, law and peaceful means, and to reject the killing of innocents and the concealment of crimes whoever the perpetrator may be.
We in The Abrahamic Movement – Iraq will turn to the international community, international organizations, the Security Council and the United Nations.
A legal action will be filed in the name of The Abrahamic Movement – Iraq regarding the statements made by this criminal.
God Almighty said:
“And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.”
Ash-Shu‘ara 227.
These words issued by the militias through the terrorist Hadi al-Amiri will be the nearest path toward the end of the militia era and Iran’s arms.
The blood of the victims is not a number. The rights of their families are not a bargaining chip, and the truth should not be buried with its people.
May God have mercy on the martyrs of Iraq and the martyrs of Tishreen, heal the wounded, return the disappeared to their families, give justice to the oppressed, and establish in Iraq a state of justice and law.
Abrahamic peace unites us.
